man vs. wild
is it love or is it art?
An Education is such a simple plot yet appealing film. It is Carey Mulligan, and it's a good thing she is so amazing, because without the perfect Jenny the film would crumble. Every line, every display of emotion, and every silent facial gesture, all of it, is so perfect it's hard to describe. She delivers this girl, considering the fact that this is a real girl, in a way that makes it genuinely difficult to forget that she isn't this girl. Moreover, she relays a likability that is impossible to ignore. One wrong move and this character lose her strength, her charm, and virtually all of her authenticity, and there just isn't one.
The best life is a lived life, they seem to argue — and an education doesn’t seem so fulfilling to the main character’s lonely teachers, who get only cold comfort from the knowledge they’ve devoted their lives to passing on. And I guess I don’t want to live like that.

Fucking douchelord.
Some people simply grow old, but they never grow up. Clearly becoming more of an rotting assoholic because of old age.

yes, i am a sinner
I recently saw these on the tube and cinema and here are my thoughts: The Rite takes exorcism more seriously than I expected it to. It begins with the supposition that Satan is “alive and active in the world” and assumes that satanic possession takes place and that the rite of exorcism works. Otherwise, we wouldn't have a movie, would we? In metaphysical terms, I must immediately jump on the word “alive.” In what sense can a being that exists outside of time and space be said to be alive? Active, yes. Still, I found myself drawn in. It is sincere. It is not exploitative; a certain amount of screaming, frothing and thrashing comes with the territory. My own guess is that people get the demons they deserve. While true believers go into frenzies, the Egyptian government loses joy in their countrymen (sorry for being political). Anthony Hopkins was so fun to watch since being Hannibal Lecter. The Rite isn’t exactly good, it’s also surprisingly not-terrible, thanks in part to Hafstrom clear preference for spooky atmospherics - dark figures hunched in doorways, average, middle-class apartments that somehow look chilly despite their homey furnishings. And still makes me want to go there and get some great Italian experience.
Burlesque is irresistible from its first minutes, and over time it creates a whole atmosphere, not only onscreen but within the audience. It's big, perfectly cast and entertaining in every way, but more than that it feels like a generous public event. See it with other people. See it with a crowd. Very occasionally, there are films that can only be enjoyed ironically. This is one of them. It ain’t art, but the cast, with help from cheesiest-ever seduction scene and some hella good dance numbers, just about ensure you won’t lose interest. but, want some cookie?
After watching the 3 seasons, I can say True Blood stands out as one of the strongest series in an uncertain fall. Graphically sexy and scary, and often wildly funny. At matatapos ko na ang last season, and I just can’t wait for the next one. And do bad things with you!!!
