Academy Awards 2010

It was the night of Academy Awards 2010. Neil Patrick Harris opened the show with spectacular broadway number plus Vegas girls both on his sides. Hosts Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin killed it! They were ridiculously funny, but Ben Stiller’s Avatar spoof was a total flopped I guess. You can see the not-so-amused James Cameron on tv hahaha and bigger shocker? Avatar did not win the big price for Best Picture..it was the Hurt Locker who bagged the honor. James Cameron’s ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow also got the award for Best Director. Bigelow is the first woman in the 82-year history of the Oscars to earn Hollywood's top prize for filmmakers.

I must say it was a night of “firsts.” Most of the actors were first-time nominees and won!

it's been a month now manila..but felt like mule shitt yesterday, thought i'm going to explode cos i was not feeling well..but i'm better now and i am ready for that appointment on friday. i think i should get a job SOON. mark, please don't screw up this one.

Percy Jackson vs The Wolfman

i wasn't able to blog for the past few weeks because of the cold that i had. but i'm good now. the doctor said twas acute rhinitis. i've learned my lesson now, i should drink lots of fluids and more vitamins. anyway, i'm back to blabber about two films i saw for the past weeks. percy jackson and the lightning thief and the wolfman. for the wolfman, great cast but it's a forgetable good film, well produced with great sound and guaranteed shocks. the director doesn’t take the film anywhere unexpected while the special effects and occasional chase scenes might be enough to pacify the younger crowd, grown-ups will find it curiously bloodless. for percy jackson, though i'm not familiar with these book series, the film's tone is not always certain, but the special effects are as spectacular as and the mythological underpinning more compelling than anything in the harry potter series. yes it's evidently Potter-ish, but unashamedly aimed at younger viewers. sorry mr. jackson, but harry potter you ain't.

i wish i had an McQ shirt in honor for one of the genuises. but i know i will have that shirt in the near future, to honor this great designer. rest in peace...

bob marley's BDAY

had a great weekend with my great friends here in manila. we had dinner at sala bistro at GB3 and headed out at Mag:net Cafe at high street. lots of amazing bands screamed that night (: and to my surprise, it was bob marley's birthday! after Mag:net, we went to our favorite getaway, Old Swiss Inn in makati. that was a night!
