toms diner

there's a curious kind of subconscious running free inside of me...i think therefore i rock and i roll...it doesn't take a whole day to recognize sunshine...i don't mind the sun sometimes...especially with my TOMS shoes, even if it means saying adios to summer. the images it shows. i'd like to daze away to a place no one has known...to a state of mind i could call mine and only i can own...when i can hum a tune anytime i choose and there's no such thing as time..just calm and sane...what a place for one to find.

what's your story dad?

happy father's day to every 'coolest guy' in the house. me and my father are not that really showy, or emotionally attached to each other. it's not that cos we're men (cos i know a lot of guys who are really close sa dad nila) it's because na ganun talaga siya. he is more closer to my sisters. he liked spoiling them when we were kids, until now with inigo. i may not have said it often, but i appreciate his care, his humor, painful endurance, strength ang his food (best chef for us). yoko lang pagiging alcoholic nya. but it really runs in the blood eh..hehehe
after that "rollercoaster week" i saw two gay films (hahaha i'm just kidding) this weekend. Toy Story3 and Letters to Juliet (oh yeah). i have been on needles waiting for the 3rd installment of Toy Story. after How To Train Your Dragon, which for me is the best animated film of the year, TS3 is my most anticipated animation. before giving my thoughts about it, lemme just say the shortfilm (DAY&NIGHT) before the movie was such a treat! a good one indeed. now TS3 is a great, great addition to the Toy Story films, funny, adventurous, sad and goofy. the story about how we outgrew the things we grew up with seemed to hit a lot of people in the theater. the last act probably thinking back to when they had favorite toys of their growing up. that was how i felt. great story with a few twists and turns and deviates from the norm quite a bit. para sa akin, naging darker yung story which i liked. on Letter to Juliet, wala lang kaming choice panoorin kasi napanuod na namin halos lahat hehehe except tagalog mainstream movies. it starred Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia), an English guy, Gael Garcia Bernal (Y Tu Mama Tambien) and Vanessa Redgrave (yung Mom sa NipTuck which is one of my fave series). its a goddamn chickflick what can i say..an ode to romance?! i enjoyed more the scenery, the place, the vineyard, the cheeses, the pasta, Italian POP lol. ginutom ako sa movie..di ko alam hehehe

free-dome

independence weekend. long weekend. i had to enjoy cos i know everything will be "eventful" from now on hehehe since the President has the authority to declare official holidays, you may declare June 12 as a holiday and hold an independence celebration but were you ever curious about this day? it was only yesterday when it brought to my attention about Philippine Independence Day so before meeting up with friends, googled it again and read some bunch of facts about it at wala akong panahon mag-lecture dito. cos nung friday night, it was Persian night with closest friends so obviously i did not pay any attention that it was independence day na the next morning. so before ending some "time of independence" kasi hinde na jobless hehehe i watched 3 mainstream Hollywood films this week. Killers, The Karate Kid and The A-Team. for The Killers, the movie does have a couple of punch lines but with lousy script talaga. Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl play an oddly disjointed pair of lovers, partners and reluctant assassins but disappointed lang ako on both counts, unfolding as a series of ideas and cliches borrowed from movies like True Lies, Mr. and Mrs. Smith and others. next is The Karate Kid, crowd-pleaser, featuring star in the making, Will Smith's son Jaden Smith. while this remake is glossier, the original is better and good stories usually get told more than once, and even on the second go around this one's a winner. bitin nga lang ako sa competition scenes. lastly The A-Team, it was entertaining packed with thrilling action sequences and zany and not characters that never take themselves too seriously. the shootouts, explosions, fights and corrupt government and military s all ultimately blend together. aylabet mhen!

back in action

just finished my first day on the new job. i accepted it for a lot of reasons. boredom, mom+sisters always yappin, asking what am i doing? anong direction ng buhay ko?lol.. uugh! but i never thought in a million years i'll be working in a very familiar environment but OK nonetheless. sobrang lapit lang and i really like the location. that was the main thing why i accepted this work. since i arrived a couple of months ago, i was looking for a job that i really want. pero who knows. i'm a happy oftentimes bored bummer. if only my mom isn't arriving next month...told her that i was working na pero wala. ayoko. i don't need one. lol
anyway, i think it's not only me that's back in action but also my favorite 80's cartoons. i remember buying almost all the stickers and coloring books of Thundercats and Voltron. now, i really wish the film rumors are true...CLICK HERE for the complete news from Yahoo.

on Prince of Persia

the sucker for movies in me watched the anticipated Prince of Persia yesterday. it was dubbed to be the next Pirates of the Caribbean. i liked the film really but comparing it to Jack Sparrow's movie? far out man! even though the cinematography was topnotch, it was too bland to be remembered. i can say Gemma Arterton who played Kaileena (i'm not sure if i heard it right) is the next big Hollywood thing. she's hott, can really act and those lips...uugh!!! i love someone who has pouty or bee-stung lips lol Prince of Persia has the high-spirited air of an old-fashioned boys' action-adventure movie but, tuned to audiences like me, the conflict is predictably amplified and accelerated.
