fuckin call me a wuss but i'm hell bent on leaving TDS (i still have one week though). don't get me wrong, i'm happy with my decision but it's hard to leave this bunch. kahit na anong buraot sa work pero after work, we volt in!!!lalo na sa inuman (kahit di ako parati sumasama hehe). maybe because na rin this is the longest work experience that i have. at marami na rin kaming pinagsamahan ng mga tao dito. bad times. good times. but like what they say, all good things must come to an end.
they will throw a despedida party tonight at Elbow Room at MetroWalk Ortigas. hope we will have a great time or else i'll shove candies down their throats. just kidding (: i will miss these tanggeros.

unshakeable reputation

my tita, who's working abroad for quite some time now, wants to check my opportunities in toronto (it's near NY...aaargh). i'm fuckin scared cos i know its different out there. but am i missing something? here are some pics from her recent trip in NY plus her place in toronto.

turn by excitement
my good friend in singapore called and he promised that we are going to Zouk! yebbah!!!! i really want to have a great time there kasi minsan lang ang opportunity at blessing na makapunta sa abroad. when we we're in HongKong, we went to Lan Kwai Fong and i enjoyed the crowd's command. it was an instant reunion kaming mag-babarkada. so i'd like to be that way again. but a million times ass-kickin' goodtimes.

delightfully tacky, yet unrefined
ika-22 ng agosto
araw ng biyernes
we went to Pasay near Mall of Asia ( i really don’t like being in MOA, god how i hate the crowd). coming from edsa, it took us about almost an hour to get there because of the traffic. the big reason kung bakit andun kami last night ay sa dahilang pupunta kami sa Hooters. dumating yung kuya ng barkada ko galing Afghanistan. he works for the US Defense something dun…im not pretty sure kung anong work talaga dun. but I guess, exciting kasi everyday daw bombahan ditto, bombahan dun. nasanay na nga raw siya sa giyera na atmosphere. see? fuckin awesome!
anyway, we had dinner sa gerry's malapit sa bay area. then up to the said resto-bar. Hooters is just another restaurant with boobies. daming ‘hipon’ dun hehehe the 'show' was good, nothing great though. i wonder how some 'conservative' folks would react though, some people would surely object but what the hell. masaya ang place, no doubt about it. at kung mamamanhikan ka, ditto mo dalhin yung magiging biyenan mo tsaka mga kapatid na lalaki ng syota mo. panalo ka chong! pero i’ve noticed hindi naman ganun kasarap yung chicken nila. no big fuss about it. for once, i don't know whether i should be happy or what. i hope this gets ironed soon. absolutely need another bottle. it'll sure help me feel a little bit better.

on traveling
last night, i was watching Jason Mraz in a local music channel (i'm a fan of his I'm Yours song, guilty as charge hehehe). na-feature kasi yung europe tour niya and i was amazed by the places kung saan siya tumugtog. sobrang ganda, lahat gusto kong puntahan. i really like to travel. problema nga lang, wala akong pera hehehe but we just have to make the most out of my kakarampot na sweldo ha!ha!ha! my parents want me to go to toronto. my aunt wants to help out. i dunno. parang seryoso na kasi yun e. hongkong pa lang yung napuntahan ko. it was super fun. basta kasama mga kaibigan. i liked the intensity of technology and the crowd. problema ko nga lang makipag-usap. a few weeks from now, i'm going to singapore with my friends. bahala na si batman kahit walang pera hehehe kahit hinde kumain basta masaya! looking forward to finally complete this gig soon. the party is in.
as Bob Marley once said "if you're not living good, travel wide. you gotta travel wide. i want to go to napa valley, wine tasting dun. tapos explore maldives. surf in siargao. party like a rockstar in prague. take a hike in alaska ala Emile Hirsch in Into the Wild movie. and of course, live and die in nyc. sweet.

heartache-headache
i woke up with a nasty headache. so i called my immediate sup that i will not report sa office. its not that i don't care about my work hehehe cos last night, we accompanied one of our colleagues to have a 2B (means two bottles) session. pag-uwe ko, i had a few cans pa sa mga tanggero. pucha! anyway, brokenhearted ang mokong. we’ve been there. I guess all of us, we've been in that situation. kasi kapag brokenhearted ka, no advice to you will make you feel better. kapag brokenhearted ka.. no advice said to you will make you feel better. none. as in. wala. kahit ano, walang epekto. kapag brokenhearted ka, the only thing that you think will make you feel better is if the one you love will say they love you too. but they won’t. (in some cases, they won’t ever, but in some, they won’t just for this point in time.) hugs will comfort you, concerned texts will make you smile, but no amount of advice will make you feel better.. unless! unless you decide to let it make you feel better. don’t be pressured though to follow everyone’s advice. kanya-kanya lang yan. you will be okay. this fucking unbelievably sad ball, and one day, when you are ready, throw it out the window. it will happen for you. i know you feel it won’t, that the day you will be okay will never come, but it will. have faith, it will.
now, all i have to do is deal with this freakin hangover.

the greatest Olympian ever?
from Yahoo Sports News:
Michael Phelps just completed the greatest Olympic performance in history. That is (or should be) without debate. But does Phelps' dominance in Athens and Beijing put him atop the list of greatest Olympians ever?
It's too early to tell, since Phelps likely isn't finished winning Olympic medals. If he returns in 2012 at the London Games and wins, say, five more medals, then there will be no question that he should be hailed as the top Olympian of all-time. If Phelps retired tomorrow though, one could still make a compelling case on his behalf.
The naysayers claim that because Phelps is a swimmer, somehow his accomplishments aren't as impressive. (One column, ridiculously, even goes so far as to say that it's "easy to win multiple medals in swimming.") Because swimming has so many racing opportunities, they say, medals are cheapened. Rubbish.
Of the 20 men who have won the most Olympic medals, only three (Phelps, Mark Spitz and Matt Biondi) were swimmers. Gymnasts dominate the top 20. If winning swimming medals was so easy, swimmers should theoretically be all over that list.
Even if they did, though, Phelps' versatility renders that argument moot. Just because all swimming strokes take place in a pool doesn't mean they're the same. Phelps won at three different distances - 100, 200 and 400 meters -- in Beijing. It's the swimming equivalent of a runner pulling the 200, 400 and 800 triple. That's never been attempted in any Olympics, let alone accomplished.
Phelps also won golds in three different strokes, a feat made even more impressive considering he was competing in those events with stroke specialists who gear their entire training toward that one discipline. That he had to swim a staggering 17 races in eight days is also not to be overlooked.
After his extraordinary performance in Beijing, Michael Phelps earned a spot on the list of all-time Olympic greats. Four years from now, he'll likely sit alone at the top.

2008 Beijing Olympics
friday night, everyone counts down the minutes to a major olympic event, Beijing Olympics 2008. the opening ceremony night was spectacular. but i've heard, some fireworks were faked because of fears over live filming. i dunno. nonetheless, China did a pretty pretty amazing job. i've seen some of the sports from previous games. its a dream for all Filipino athletes to get the gold medal. wala pa yata sa kasaysayan ng mga manlalarong Pinoy na nakamit ang gintong medalya. as of now, let's just continue to dream.

"Dumb" of the Dragon Emperor
as a movie-freak, one way to waste time is to watch not exactly brain teasers, but good silly fun movies. i catched The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor yesterday. They tried to entertain us with a series of daring escapades and breathtaking spectacles, but unfortunately these attempts fall far short of their aspirations. i don't understand why you'd cast Jet Li in a role that wastes his great screen presence by covering him in bad special effects most of the time, when he's far more compelling in his own skin. in fact, i would love to see the entire cast in a better movie with a stronger script.

where art thou
friday night, i went to Art Asia Gallery in Megamall for a one~man show of the award-winning sculptor, Seb Chua. his creation, Mother's Love is UNICEF's symbol for its national campaign to better their plight. the gallery was amazing. he used brass, copper and bronze. and free food pa! (: it was fun to meet different kinds of art enthusiasts too. it was a great escape from an exhausting week in the office.
